Energetic Attacks And How To End Them By Building Compassion

It is not true, in my experience, that a person's thoughts or energy can affect another person. The way they APPEAR to affect you is by your sharing the thought. You can find happiness in ending negative emotions by seeing their true source. If I hate you and you sense it somehow, you know I hate you by the process of thinking. I am not using the word 'thinking' as imagining, rather I mean it in the sense of intellectual comprehension.

Dear Entrepreneur, Stand Tall, Be Strong, Kick-Ass and Win - Remember That

Do entrepreneurs ever have doubt? I think all humans have doubt, and as a former franchisor, I can certainly tell you that many of our franchisees were quite scared, and had sleepless nights after they signed the franchise agreement, paid the money, finished training, and realized that this is where the rubber meets the road. Indeed, sometimes I forget about all that stuff being retired now, but I was reminded the other day of this common occurrence for all entrepreneurs.

1981 Yenko Camaro - front three-quarter view, white

You've never seen a 1981 Yenko Camaro? Maybe that's because only 19 were made and they usually sell for well north of what a new Camaro will cost you from your local Chevrolet dealer.

One gorgeously restored, matching numbers example is up for purchase on eBay Motors for the eye-watering Buy-It-Now price of $180k. But please consider the car's claimed history and stat sheet before passing judgement.

As the legend goes, in 1969, Yenko Chevrolet of Murray, Pennsylvania took a 12-year break from modding Camaros. But low compression '80s engines got under the skin of Don Yenko, and in 1981, the tuning legend proceeded to cram a turbocharged, four-barrel, 350 V8 under the hood of the second-generation car. Horsepower on the rare Yenko is unclear, but it should definitely be way more than the stock Z-28's meager 175 hp. Reports suggest this was to be Yenko's final big build, and the owner of this eBay find says this one is the very last 1981 Yenko produced.

On top of all that, the Charlotte, North Carolina seller says that the car has fewer than 30k miles, some of which were supposedly put there by curious automotive journalists. The winning bidder will get the original build sheet, window sticker and a production intent letter signed by Don Yenko.

Samsung's Q1 2012 profits nearly double year-over-year on higher margins for TVs and phones

Samsung's Q1 2012 profits nearly double year-over-year on higher margins for TVs and phones

The numbers for Samsung's first quarter of 2012 are in and as it expected they are up sharply over the same period from 2011. After predicting profits of 5.8 trillion won it managed to top that, notching an operating profit of 5.85 trillion won ($5.16 billion US) for the quarter, a 98 percent gain over a year ago. Phones accounted for 73 percent of the profit, contributing 4.27 trillion won to the bottom line. As the world awaits the debut of what we assume will be the Samsung Galaxy S III May 3rd powered by its Exynos 4 Quad CPU, there's clearly no shortage of demand for the Galaxy S II and Note. Sales of chips and TVs decreased from last quarter, but like its competitor LG, growing sales of high res tablet panels (we wonder which one that might be), 3DTVs and OLEDs increased profitability. Specifically, the high end 7000/8000 series of HDTVs increased sales by 50 percent from last year, while the company plans to focus on "region-specific" LED models for emerging markets, and high end (and high priced) flat-panels for developed markets.

We're listening in to the earnings call at the moment, and we'll let you know if there's any other details that come out of what is mostly boring numbers talk. So far it's all pretty businessy, although in response to a question executives did confirm that they expect the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note to occupy different segments in terms of size. So there you have it -- the Galaxy S III will (shockingly) not have a 5.3-inch screen. Also, it predictably is trying to continue the trend of global launches, although that hardly puts to rest the issue of how long we may end up waiting for carrier-specific versions here in the US. Check out the rest of Samsung's details in a press release and a few slides from the report embedded after the break.

Point of the Compass

True North is a vanishing point of reference. Our cultural compass has shifted course to a trajectory with an unknown destination void of purpose. Our cultural compass has shifted its trajectory to an unknown destination without guiding reference points. The good news---there is a compass that can save any wayward culture gone wild. My curiosity and innate quest for meaning and purpose led me to discover that there is Hope for repositioning and rediscovery of True North for living.
