Living In A Placebo World

Dr. Irving Kirsch, a research scientist at Harvard, has been studying the placebo effect for over 30 years and has found that in most cases, placebos work as well as the standard medications prescribed by most physicians for various illnesses. Placebos are even as or more effective in common surgeries, meaning instead of performing an actual surgery, the surgery was faked and the patients recovered just as well as those who had the actual surgery.

Is It Important for a Presidential Candidate to Inspire?

It seems that President Obama when he was running for office was able to Inspire a good portion of the population. Much of this was due to excellent branding by his political handlers, PR people, and those that built his rock star image using hundreds of millions of dollars. Verizon pushes its upgrade fee to $30 on April 22nd

Image
Ah, it was only a matter of time before Verizon decided to jump on the bandwagon of ridiculously high upgrade fees, now that Sprint and AT&T have both exercised the option. Big Red announced this morning that April 22nd will be the magic date in which it will charge you a cool $30 just for the privilege of purchasing a subsidized handset and signing a fresh two-year commitment. Cadillac Baby Stroller

One of the great insufferable truths of adulthood is that toys are always cooler when you're too old to acceptably play with them. Take this custom-built Cadillac baby stroller, for example. A scale model of the iconic '60, the stroller features underbody lighting, sweet whitewall tires, unique pin striping and a slick red interior. Of course, that's just what's on the surface. Doting parents may also press a button to make the stroller shoot flames. That's right: shoot flames. We're in love.

If you're as smitten as we are and happen to have a rug rat on the way, you can actually purchase fiberglass pedal-car shells for just $199.99 from eBay. Of course, you'll need to throw your own blood, sweat and tears into the mix to create a final product on par with the the one in the video after the jump. Not a Cadillac fan? No problem. You can also snap up everything from '32 Ford roadsters to '51 Mercury convertibles and even '41 Willys Truck shells as well. You can find them here. In the mean time, hit the jump for a little video inspiration.
